biking update

The bf and I still bike every morning as long as the weather permits it. We got bored with our daily route and finally upped the ante.

One morning we did 36 kilometers and it was quite adventurous because we had to pass by houses and dogs and muddy trails. It was mountain biking in every sense of the word. We also took one route wherein we had to carry our bikes across because the bridge was destroyed from last year's typhoon. The current in the river was quite strong and I really had to struggle because my bike was quite heavy-or so I think. Our shoes and socks got wet and the bf actually stepped onto some cow dung. Hahaha! It was a long ride home but the view was spectacular at the top.

We intend to go up to the shrine tomorrow although I doubt if we will. The rains fell hard today and that means wet ground tomorrow. Nevertheless, it is safe to say that our daily trips are no longer monotonous. In fact, we go wherever we feel like going. We take the long or short route, depending on our energy level.

I love that we can finally manage to go long distances. The bf has always been the stronger biker but I can already keep up with him this time. In two months, there is already progress in terms of our stamina and I have also lost more weight. I would like to think that biking is more effective as compared to running/walking.

no power

Yesterday was supposed to be my lazy Sunday. It never happened because for eight solid hours, there was no electricity. We didn't know there was going to be a power interruption, but apparently it scheduled and announced to the public. I plugged my computer too late and so I couldn't continue my Suburgatory marathon. I only got to watch two episodes and then the battery warning came. I was bored out of my wits, reading was not as exciting and it was very hot. The day started out gloomy which would have been perfect. But at around 9, the sun broke out of the clouds. I decided to clean the car's windows to remove hard water stains but I stopped after 30 minutes as it was very tiring.

After lunch, I chatted with my mom and siblings then I took a nap. I opened up my bedroom windows and just closed my eyes. I succeeded for about 30 minutes until my phone rang. My uncle wanted me to go to his house. So I went and I was asked to buy strips for his glucometer. His assistant didn't know if the one available at the store would match simply because she did not bring the machine with her. Stupid, I know. I bought the stuff, went home and proceeded to put avocado mask in my hair. For good measure, I put on a face mask as well. I left it on to dry then took a long shower. When I got out of the bathroom I saw my phone had 6 messages in the inbox. I figured it was the bf and it was. He wanted me to email someone and was surprised why I didn't reply at once. By that time, the power had returned so I was able to do what he asked right away. We didn't go to the mall for our usual outing because my brother went to the party and the baby had gone there earlier.

That was my lazy Sunday which turned out to be not so lazy after all. We couldn't go to the beach or pool because funds were at a minimum. Hahaha!

my dinner

Because my life is boring, I am always posting about food. Hahaha! I mean really, what do I have to say when my life is not that exciting?

This is my dinner today. That's cream of chicken with egg, leftover hawaiian pizza and adobong kangkong. I was still full from the snacks I had this afternoon so I didn't want to eat rice. The kangkong is a very good source of fiber and I love eating this too. The leftoever pizza was from last Sunday when we ate out at a Mexican restaurant. (I know pizza in a Mexican restaurant, but whatever!) Cream of chicken soup was half of a packet that I cooked a couple of weeks ago. It was delicious. I just added carrots and green onions with hard boiled egg slices. I had a very good dinner!

Sorry for the lousy picture, I just used my phone and yes that's my bedspread. I really need to buy a dinner tray!

boxes

Because I have no social life to speak of, I often have a lot of time on my hands. One Saturday evening, I was at a loss on what to do so I decided to check on the boxes atop my closet. The picture above is just half of what I have there, along with scores of dust-covered paperbacks and hardbound books.

I had forgotten what was inside those boxes and was not surprised to see a lot of junk. Hahaha!

But I did get to see an assortment of Cebu Pacific freebies. The bf often asks me to answer their in-flight games and obviously, I always get it right. Just goes to show how often we fly in a year. Too bad, PAL has no giveaways...

I used to collect these pouches or clutches-not sure of the term. The cream and gold one is from Bath and Body Works, the green is by Juicy Couture, third is part of a Tommy Hilfiger travel bag, not sure with the dark silver one, animal print is an ukay-ukay find and the last is Nine West. I have a feeling I'll be giving some of these away in December.

This box holds letters from friends, a button from World Youth Day given to me by my favorite nun and that magic wallet that she gave to me as well. That brown pencil case was the one I used in high school and is still very much alive. That was about 17 years ago...imagine that!

I got this box from a friend of mine and I really liked it. I used this for various knick knacks but decided to clean it up and use it for my watches.

These are the watches I use daily. My decent watches are kept inside the Guess watch box.

busy, busy, busy

I haven't been able to blog much because I've been caught up with too much work, ferrying kids to and from school and working back again. Besides the fact that I haven't done anything exciting anyway.

I just stay cooped up in the house all day, save for a few times that the bf comes to fetch me. Other than that, I've been slaving away and facing the computer for hours on end. I do stop working at 5pm and resume the next day.

I'm still running every morning although I've been really, really tired this week. I only ran for about 20 minutes yesterday. Today I've almost resumed my old energy. The bf was talking about going on a quick out of town trip tomorrow but there is no confirmation as of press time. Hahaha! So there is a big chance of it not pushing through.

I do have several errands to do but I've put it off for the meantime. For one, I need to go to the bank and request for a new ATM. During our previous trip, the alcohol bottle in my bag opened and apparently, my cards got wet. My credit card was fine but the ATM that is used for my salary is beyond repair. I'm planning to go tomorrow, in time for my most recent paycheck. I also need to replenish on vitamins, etc.

Sorry if I've been so boring lately but I do hope to post something new soon.

Ciao.

weak, boring and school

The baby took time off school for about a week because we traveled and he got sick. So yesterday, he didn't want to go to school anymore. The bf was there to take him to school but he didn't want to ride in his car either. He was saying "I hate Daddy. I hate Daddy's car" during the ride. Good thing the bf just smiled at him.

Today, they had an early class and still he didn't want to go. He kept saying "weak" or "boring" during the trip. That's how my baby talks now. He talks ask if he's big enough to understand his words. If he does not like anything he says those two words.

For two consecutive days, his yaya has been inside the classroom with him. Hopefully, it'll be better tomorrow. His classes are ending by the end of the month anyway.

boring

There are times when I think my life is boring. I mean I think it's boring because I seldom do exciting things. Other than our travels the bf, my life is monotonous and simple. I wake up before 6am and exercise. Then I go home. I pray, eat breakfast, shower and work. During the day, the bf fetches me and we go downtown or the office to run errands and do business related stuff. I'm home usually by 4pm and I go back to work. By 6 or 7, I'm done working and then it's time for television and play time. By 9.30, I'm tucked in bed and heading off to slumberland.

That's what I do on a daily basis. It just changes during the weekend when Saturday means lunch at my uncle's house and Sunday and my day off from the bf. Sunday evenings, the family goes to the mall and eat out.

Last Friday night, I saw my sister pass by the house and I asked where she was headed. Apparently, she was going for videoke with her workmates. It made me realize that I don't do those things anymore. I have become a boring person.

But to be perfectly honest, I love being boring. It makes me happy just curling up in bed, watching television or a DVD, playing computer games or reading a book. If I go out to parties, I only eat and then go back home right away. I'd much rather play wrestling with my son than spend the night drinking or listening to horrendous music.

I've reached a particular conclusion. I'm growing old. Hahaha!
