artistahin and typhoon juaning
last week (if you start with a sunday, that is!) the bf and i travelled to manila-at the height of typhoon juaning at that. we had gotten tickets already and the airline didn't cancel the flight so we had to fly. (mom was worried given that signal # 2 was raised there )
we did what we had to do during the day and by 7 pm we were supposed to meet someone at philcoa. the bf wanted to eat first so we passed by q.c. memorial circle and ate at max's. it was raining of course and we told the people to come by the resto instead. so after eating we went out. the people we were meeting still didn't arrive yet so we just stood by the building's awning. i got there last since i still had to settle our bill. there were already a lot of people loitering and a lot of abs-cbn vans parked but we didn't notice anyone interesting. when i got to where the bf was standing, there was a group of 5 people or so. i saw it was 2 actors and 2 actresses of the network smoking with a fat lady. i asked the bf if he knew who the people were and he said no. he took a good look and amended his earlier answer. they were blowing smoke rings and talking. we didn't mind them at all. after about 15 minutes or so, they left.
the only comment bf had was that they looked better on tv. i guess he was disillusioned about the older actress looking disheveled and unkempt. it was raining after all, maybe she didn't feel like dressing up. i have to admit the other actor looked much sweeter in person. he kind of looked rough and tough on tv.
while i often see celebrities in the metropolis, i never pay them much attention. i only want to see john lloyd though! hahaha!

Blog Post
When I think of what to post in this blog, I usually run out of ideas. At night, while I lay in bed and before I drift off to sleep, think of what to write. But I often forget them when I awake. = )
So here are a few random thoughts crowding my mind today:
So here are a few random thoughts crowding my mind today:
- One of my girlfriends is finally pregnant. She is over the moon excited and is asking me for tips. I tell her I have forgotten already. What I loved about being pregnant was that I could eat anything I wanted and I could get away with wearing anything.
- I love my new job! While it can get boring staying at home all week, I still love the flexibility and the time I have on my hands. And the pay is not bad, actually.
- But I do miss interacting with other people. My life is kind of limited right now. I also do not go out much so it's just family and the bf.
- NIKITA the TV series is great. I couldn't stop watching the entire season in one go. I had to though, or I'd miss my beauty sleep.
- I expected J. Lo and Marc Anthony to break up a while ago but it's still sad news to hear (i'm a sucker for happy endings) and Amy Winehouse's death is just tragic albeit expected too.
- Being sick has its advantages. I lost weight without having to diet, and so did the bf. And finally, after three weeks, the pain is manageable. I no longer have to bring a pillow everywhere. Plus the bf took off his cast already.
- I need money! hahaha! This is an understatement because I always overspend. Good thing the bf does not know or I'd be dead. He's always lecturing me about saving for rainy days etc. And all I can think of is buying stuff.
- The baby's birthday is coming up. I am still debating on the theme. But I have made plans. Can't wait!

my favorite things
i'm in the mood for lists, so humor me. i want to share the things that make me happy. people not included.
- curling up with a good book. it never fails to relieve boredom-anywhere, anytime.
- an ice cold glass of coke. i love coke although i try to avoid it because i can't sleep at night.
- staying by the beach. i love the feel of the breeze and the peace i feel while i'm there. i don't want to swim though. i lost that feeling when i realized i sucked at swimming.
- buying jewelry. i want to have lots of jewelry-whimsical, pretty real jewelry! care to give me some?
- eating yummy burgers, pizza, pasta, baby back ribs and chocolate. need i say more?
- occasional days or nights out. its just loads of ribbing, laugh out loud moments and good old clean fun!
- travel time. going out of town for a day is good enough for me, two days or three is even better.
- dvd marathons. it's never boring!
- staying in my bedroom. just lying in bed, with food and the remote control and cellphone close by. not to mention the computer is turned on, who needs to go out?
- window shopping. i can't afford to shop for real, you see! so i just look, and look and look.
life lessons
- mind your own business.
- family first. no need to say more. at the end of the day, they will be the only ones ready and willing to help you.
- when in doubt, shut up. i found it easier if i kept my mouth shut. lesser mistakes means lesser chance to inflict pain through words.
- be content. life is hard but you can find happiness even if you are not the most beautiful, the smartest or the richest person in the world.
- the more you give, the more you receive. i always believe that when you share your blessings, it comes back in unexpected ways.
- live, love and laugh. do the things that you enjoy doing, eat well and laugh out loud. life is short.
- save for rainy days. even if materialism lures you and your pocketbook, save a little for emergencies. you never know when you'll need it the most.
- never skip breakfast. i lost weight when i ate breakfast regularly.
- watch cartoon sometimes. it brings back the child in you.
- the Lord will never fail you. when you feel life is going to a direction you didn't plan on, just trust that God knows the way. you will never be lost if you believe and accept His plan.

Curveball!
photo by: geekosystem.comi have been talking about how great my life has been for the past few months. well, some good things must come to an end. or halt for that matter. a couple of weeks ago, the bf and i had a motorcycle accident. we haven't ridden a motorcycle for ages, and that weekend, the bf wanted me to try riding his new bike. it ended in disaster!
on our way home, we were hit by a speeding motorcycle and we both ended up in the hospital. while my injuries may be tamer, the pain is no less different than the bf's. he has a broken collarbone and left hand. we both have difficulties in sleeping and it's been a struggle day to day.
we are planning to travel this week and we are wondering how to manage the trip home. in fact, he has fever tonight and i will have to go back to the doctor tomorrow. i have a very low tolerance for pain this test and putting me through the wringer.
but because just like everything in life, we need to take it all in stride. we were talking about the reason for the mishap and we were actually blaming each other, in a joking manner of course. the bf always tells me it's an accident and we cannot blame anyone. the other driver didn't have a driver's license but we didn't press charges.
so for now, we're still dealing and trying to manage the pain and praying that it all will get better with time.
