i've always admired women from high society. you know the ones who are featured in the Philippine Tatler, ladies who lunch, have charity functions etc. if you want to know why? i just love the way they dress! hahaha! not because of their sterling characters (that i wouldn't know!)

you see as i was growing up, i had classmates who were very rich (in my very limited knowledge at that time) and they had all the expensive school things i wanted and we couldn't afford: the pencil cases, the school bags, school shoes etc. and they looked really neat too. i'm afraid i couldn't look like that--ever (maybe only in the mornings, the afternoons are another story). i also knew someone in college who was that prim and proper. her skirt wouldn't get any wrinkles at all! and she always had make-up on. i always admire that in a lady.
while i'm not tomboyish, i'm not exactly that lady-like. i'm more laid-back and comfort-over-style kinda girl.
so up to now, i wish for a real pearl necklace. i equate that with alta sociedad. women with breeding and pedigree--or so they say. i still haven't gotten that wish. for one, it would be too expensive for me to buy and another, where would i wear it? i have no such functions and balls that require pearl necklaces.
oh well, i'll have to make do with pearl earrings for now...
