drive safe

i drive to work everyday. i am essentially a defensive driver. i am used to the roads, the public and most lousy drivers in our place. i do not exactly want to drive but the bf simply cannot accomodate my needs. hahaha! truthfully, i'd be late for work everyday if he took me to work. in a way, it's good that i am not dependent on anyone. i can take my time--either i'm early or late! while i drive a car (old) i actually prefer to drive a motorcyle. unfortunately, i'm on motorcycle ban. not for a while, but forever. or something like that.

it happened last year when my dad got into an accident. i will never forget that day. it was black saturday and i was at the mall with my classmate when my brother texted me. it was supposedly an emergency. before i could sip my frap and take a bite of my krispy kreme at that. i rushed to the hospital and thankfully my dad wasn't seriously hurt. he had scrapes and bruises but other than that he was fine. the pedestrian however, was not so lucky. he died several days later. it was traumatic, mind you. and we had to indemnify the family of the deceased. that is another ugly story although at least it's completely over now.

after that, the bf told me never to drive a motorcycle again. of course i said yes and of course i still drive. he almost always catches me when i do, actually. truthfully, i really like driving motorcycles in our place. for one, i can park anywhere (parking is haaaard to find!), another its more economical fuel-wise and i get to where i'm going fast.

nevertheless, i drive safely. i drive like a man, at times. i know my rights and i always assert myself while i am on the road. although i try not to drive on weekends. that is my day off and it definitely works!
