bookworm

i am a bookworm. that is a fact.

i love reading and have developed the habit while we were shopping at national bookstore--i was about 8 or 9 that time. i can't remeber exactly where it was but i will never forget that i got jack and the beanstalk and beauty and the beast. if you belong to my generation, you will definitely remember the green hardbound ladybug (or beetle) fairy tale books. with levels or grades that is suitable to your age. how i loved those books. i know they're still around somewhere. (unless my mom threw them away, of course!)

i do have quite a number of books. about a thousand books would be less than the exact count. however, i have given away my recent purchases. i no longer buy expensive books to be honest. instead i frquent book sale and a surplus shop that sells really cheap books. my mom would get the books i have read and donate it to our barangay library. she calls them clutter! (the nerve!)

some of the books i love and collected are now kept in several balikbayan boxes--you know when your relative sends your family an LBC box from the US! i wish i coud re-read some from my collection but i'd rather spare myself from having to exert too much effort finding what book is in which box plus i'm sure to be sneezing to death. oh well..

but i read with a passion. my purse is never without a paperback, i try to read hardbound books at home they're too heavy you see, so that whethere i'm in line at the bank, or ordering take-out or simply waiting in the car, i won't be bored. i can't while away the time without a book. that would seem like time wasted for me.

i try to finish a book or two every week. i read anything and everything. and i read fast too. and i'm glad i read because reading always guarantees that you learn something new and interesting each and everytime. oh yes, i am bursting with knowledge right now! = )
